Ett Hem, which is Swedish for ‘a home’, already epitomises effortless luxury – and its latest additions are a design lover’s dream come true
Ever since opening its doors in 2012 – following a meticulous conversion from a private residence – Ett Hem has enchanted guests with its down-to-earth service, homely atmosphere, and informally elegant interiors. The Arts and Crafts townhouse in Lärkstaden, a residential area on Östermalm in Stockholm, is celebrating its tenth anniversary with an exciting expansion.
Swedish owner Jeanette Mix and long-time friend Ilse Crawford, the creative mind behind beloved British interiors brand Studioilse, have once again come together to work their oh-so-detailed design magic by respectfully refurbishing and carefully curating adjacent townhouses on Sköldungagatan 4 and 6, breathing new life into the neighbouring buildings.
Sköldungagatan 4 will have 10 guest rooms, cosy living rooms, private dining rooms, and a resident’s lounge. The interiors will continue to feel relaxed and special, with a handpicked mix of vintage, bespoke and contemporary furniture and art. Guests will be able to enjoy long and celebratory meals in the kitchen lounge, much in line with Ett Hem’s existing ‘open kitchen’ concept. During the warmer months, the generous balcony and the flower-filled garden which connects the houses will become lovely spaces with sink-into seating dotted amongst the plants, extending the secret urban garden which has become a favourite spot of Ett Hem residents and ‘in the know’ locals.
In addition, Ett Hem is creating three residences for longer stays and a full-scale gym for hotel guests on Sköldungagatan 6, which expects to welcome its first guests this autumn.
