With many borders still closed around the world, and holidays put on hold for the time being, a personal note from a local Icelander might be just the thing your special someone needs to brighten up their day. This Valentine’s Day, the team at Hotel Rangá will be sending a little love from Iceland in the form of 500 special edition Northern Lights postcards.*

It is a well-known fact that Icelanders are some of the friendliest people on the planet, and have perfected giving guests a warm welcome when coming in from the cold. While the natural beauty of this Nordic island can be experienced all year round, it feels that bit more magical during the winter – when the fjords are frozen, the rustic cabins dusted with snow, and the Northern Lights come out to play.

Perfectly positioned for the Golden Circle and glacier expeditions, Hotel Rangá is very much within Northern Lights territory – so much so that this hunting lodge meets palatial log cabin offers an optional wake-up service and provides bespoke blankets to make sure guests never miss the sky come alive at night from the hotel’s state-of-the-art observatory. Take in the Icelandic wilderness from the outdoor geothermal hot tubs with volcano views, before setting out on an array of Nordic adventures, from snowmobiling and dog-sledding to horse-riding across black sand beaches.

In the meantime, sign up to send your Northern Lights postcard here, with the option to add a personalised handwritten message to your loved one – the love letters will be postmarked this Sunday 14th February and sent out on a first come, first serve basis. Follow @hotelranga on social media to watch your message be written, and share the love from a distance.

*Due to popular demand, Hotel Rangá will soon be releasing another 200 postcards for an extra dose of Icelandic love.
